| Not a bad weekend at all... Friday, did absolutely nothing at work. Basically, it boils down to me waiting for people to get back in tocuh with me so I can proceed on some issues. If I don't get called/emailed back, there's not much I can do. So, to complete the relax-and-slack evening, I joined Mike, Thom and Lisa on an outing to Clifton for Chevy's for dinner (mmmmm mexican food) and then Pirates of the Caribbean. There are 4 movies on my "to see" list. T3, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - which is entirely too long to type out every time but I refuse to call it "LXG" - Pirates of the Caribbean, and 28 days later (NOT a sequel to the Sandra Bullock movie.) League looks silly, and T3 looks like it could be total ass... but I want to see if there are any redeeming qualities in them. I love zombie flicks, so that explains 28 Days Later. But Pirates looked like it could be really bad or really good. Some 2 hours later, we left the theater totally satisfied. Mix one part good action and special effects, one part great lines, and one part "what the fuck is wrong with Johnny Depp?" and you get a great film. Saturday, I slept in and straightened up a bit since Eva was coming over Sunday. Went over to Mike's around 8-ish to watch "Happy Tree Friends" (more on that later, maybe) and then off to work (yes, work) at 10 to install software on servers. Well, not so much install as, confirm that other people installed the software by checking out our database. Then hung around till 12 since that was when the next installs were scheduled. 12:15. 12:30. 12:45. Finally, I decided to cut my losses and just head back to mike's for beers and bitching about what a waste the last 3 hours were (which isn't totally true, since I got to play some PC games to pass the time.) Then it happened... there was a housefly in Mike and Thom's place that was buzzing around earlier, but we couldn't track it down. Well, he made a re-appearance a little too close to me, and being irate as it was, when the fly was within "fist range" I managed to punch the little bastard right out of the air. How I managed that I still don't know, so I quickly sealed my victory with a Ric Flair-esqe elbow drop onto the stunned fly. That, sadly, was the highlight of my Saturday. I sleep at Mike's since it's already late at that point... and proceed to wake up about once every hour until 10am, at which point his friend Paul (also slept over) and I go to Dunkin Donuts for coffee and I head back to my place to shower and clean. I shower, vacuum, and laundry, and Eva gets here around 1:30, with Olive Garden take-out in tow (I love you baby :p) so I drag my table and chairs out to the balcony for "lunch with a view." After that we go out for a viewing of Pirates of the Caribbean - my second in 3 days. Still great, still enjoyable. Then off to Pathmark to trade in some 500 pennies for cash (thank you coinstar) and turkey hill dutch chocolate, Eva's favorite. Back to my place for mac and cheese, and "Death to Smoochy." That about wraps up the weekend. Now, to get to bed early enough to be awake tomorrow morning so I can vent to my boss about coming in on weekends to do work and not having people coordinate with me. Yay. | ||||||||||
